As part of the establishment of Victoria’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission (MHWC), the inaugural Commissioners have exchanged letters with the Minister for Mental Health, Ingrid Stitt.
The exchange of letters facilitates the alignment of strategic priorities and confirms that the MHWC has set its founding strategic direction and key deliverables for its first year of operation.
This marks a crucial step in setting the stage for a comprehensive and inclusive approach to mental health and wellbeing in Victoria.
Beyond its establishment year, the MHWC will continue to work with consumers, carers, service providers, statutory entities, government and other stakeholders to develop and deliver our broader strategic plan and to ensure that the objectives of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 (Vic) with respect to the Commission are realised.
