Our Lived Experience Plan

Our Lived Experience Plan is grounded in the belief that every person receiving mental health care has the right to actively participate in their recovery.

Our Lived Experience Plan (the Plan) has been co-produced with sector leaders and consumers, families, carers, supporters and kin with lived and living experience.

The Plan is grounded in the belief that every person receiving mental health care has the right to actively participate in their recovery.

The Plan calls for both government and the sector to embed and infuse every piece of work, every setting and space in the mental health and wellbeing sector, with the experience and expertise of those with lived experience.

It outlines how we will support this – by listening to the voices of lived experience, by becoming an exemplar organisation for lived experience, elevating lived experience, supporting leadership in the sector, tracking, monitoring and reporting on the system and ensuring government is accountable for its commitments.
